Broward Sheriff’s detectives were searching late Tuesday for a man suspected in the murders of a woman and teenager in Weston.
Pedro Maldonado, 53, was thought to be driving a black Volvo SUV with a Florida tag number 256-XHE, sheriff’s spokeswoman Dani Moschella said.
“He should be considered armed and extremely dangerous,” she said. “Anybody who sees him or the vehicle should call 911 immediately.”
The Broward Sheriff’s SWAT team went to a house around 4:20 p.m., on the 4200 block of Vineyard Circle, inside a gated community located just north of Cypress Bay High School.
Information was received that indicated “residents might be in distress,” Moschella said.
“When [SWAT] got to the house, it was dark, there was no response,” she said.
When SWAT deputies entered the home just after 6 p.m., they found the bodies, Moschella said.
“The victims appear to be an adult female and a teenage boy who died violently,” she said. “This is being investigated as a double homicide.”
Detectives were working to confirm the identities and relationship of the two victims,, Moschella said.
